Security

How safe is it to give my credit card details online?

None of the customers who have shopped at Designer Sofas 4u have reported fraudulent use of a credit/debit card as a result of purchases made with us. The reason shopping with us is so safe is because our secure server software encrypts your credit/debit card details and convert it into bits of code that are then securely transmitted directly to WorldPay (our e-merchant bank). We are so confident about the transaction security on our site that we back every purchase with a security guarantee. In the extremely unlikely event of unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, most banks and card issuers either cover all the charges that result from unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, or may limit your liability to just £50. If your bank or card issuer does hold you liable for any of the £50, Designer Sofas4u will cover the entire liability to you, up to the full £50. Designer Sofas4u will cover this liability only if the unauthorised use of your credit or debit card resulted through no fault of your own from purchases made at Designer Sofas4u while using the secure server.

Ordering & Payment

How can I place an order?

You can order online simply by clicking the "Add to Basket" button next to the item you wish to purchase (you can always remove the item from your order later) and when you are done shopping click on the "Proceed to Checkout" button which takes you to our secure checkout. You may then enter your delivery and billing information and credit card details and submit your order via our secure server. Alternatively, you can call us on 0845 833 4677 to place your order by phone.

 

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major Credit and Debit cards including MasterCard, Visa, Switch / Maestro, Amex and JCB cards as well as PayPal, Google Checkout, Personal Cheques and Bank or Building Society Cheques (all cheques made payable to "Designer Sofas 4u Limited").

 

Do Designer Sofas 4u's prices include VAT?

All prices quoted by us on our website are already inclusive VAT at 17.5%.

 

What happens if I cancel my order?

Most furniture, which is made or altered, is done so specifically for you. Products that are made specially for you may not be cancelled by you, either before or after delivery. For all other furniture orders you have the right to cancel the order up to 14 days before the delivery date however, if you do so, we shall retain the deposit (30%), or an administration charge of £50. Once delivered no furniture may be returned nor will we provide any refund unless it is defective or has been accidentally damaged by us in the course of delivery. This does not affect your statutory rights. Most furniture, which is made or altered, is done so specifically for you. Once products are ordered from our Chesterfield Sofas, Leather Sofas, Designer Sofas, Fabric Sofas range, your order may not be cancelled by you. For all other furniture orders you have the right to cancel the order up to 14 days before the delivery date, but if you do so we shall retain the deposit (30%), together with an administration charge of £50. Once delivered no furniture may be returned nor will we provide any refund unless it is defective or has been accidentally damaged by us in the course of delivery. This does no affect your statutory rights. Mattresses can only be returned if they are unopened. Mattresses which have been opened and slept on cannot be returned. If you wish to test a mattress please keep it wrapped until you are sure you want to keep it.

 

How competitive are your prices?

Our prices reflect a saving of between 10% and 40% off the manufacturer's suggested retail price. While list prices and discounts vary from place to place, we are confident that our prices are among the most competitive anywhere in the UK. If you see an item cheaper elsewhere we’ll do our best to beat that price.

 

What happens once I’ve placed my order?

When we receive your order, we’ll send it to the order processing department, and despatched accordingly within the lead time. If the product is out of stock, we will inform you immediatly to let you know when the product will be delivered. Once your goods are available you will be contacted by telephone by our carriers to arrange delivery.  Please Note: Most items are delivered within 2 weeks of placing the order, Tub Chairs and Footstools are normally delivered within 2-5 working days.

 

Delivery

What is Designer Sofas 4u's delivery policy?

The prices shown on our website are exclusive of home delivery charges.  Standard delivery charges will cover anywhere within Mainland UK, except for the following postcodes whereby a moinimum charge of £99 will apply:- CA, DL, LA, LD, LL23-27, LL35-78, SA19-73, SY18-20, SY23-25, TS and we can deliver to the following postcodes by quotation:- GY, HS, IM, IV14-29, IV37-63, JE, KA28, KW, PA20, PA34, PA36-78, PH17-50, ZE.. Large items are transported directly to your home in specially equipped furniture vans and are carried in by trained furniture delivery staff. Smaller items may be delivered by a parcel service. For delivery to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Islands and Channel Islands we will deliver free to a nominated mainland GB address e.g. a port. Onward shipping from that point is the responsibility of the customer.

Note: For International Orders Designer Sofas4u Ltd will bear the cost of UK charges, however Duty and/or Tax charges from the receiving counrty will be a responsibility of the customer.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the furniture ordered will pass freely through into your room of choice. Our standard delivery charges include no allowance for removal of doors, windows or other fixtures.

 

When can I expect my order?

Delivery times vary according to the product. Approximate times are given next to each product description but these may vary depending on how busy the manufacturer is when you place your order. We will endeavour to notify you as soon as possible of any delays we are made aware of. Generally, when more than one item is ordered all items will be delivered at the same time.

 

How do you calculate your delivery times?

Every item in our range has its own unique delivery time that is up-dated daily to reflect changes in the supply-chain. Many items of furniture are manufactured by hand within UK by specialist craftsmen and the delivery time reflects this to deliver it to your home address. Long delivery times are not unique to Designer Sofas 4u, they are the norm with virtually all UK furniture retailers. By making and delivering your furniture to order we are able to offer you the broadest choice of furniture possible, allowing you to choose the item that is just right for you and which will give you pleasure for many years to come. If a fast delivery time is important to your purchasing decision we recommend that you browse our store further to see if there is an item with a shorter delivery time. Most of our items are delivered to your door within a 4 week period or less.

 

What if I'm unable to take delivery of my order when its ready?

For purchases from our Collection, we will contact you to arrange a delivery date when the furniture has been received into our warehouse. We must be able to deliver the furniture into your home within 14 days thereafter. If we are unable to do so due to your default, we will make a charge for storing the furniture beyond this point, which is payable in advance. We will advise you of this charge at the relevant time. After the expiry of 2 months your order shall be cancelled and we shall return the balance of the monies due to you, less the deposit and an administration charge of £50 and any storage charges payable.

 

What if my delivery contains damaged goods?

In the unlikely event of this happening, please contact us immediately on 0845 833 4677. We will arrange for the goods to be repaired in your home if possible, alternatively we will arrange to have them returned to the manufacturer. If items need to be returned please keep the original packaging. All returns and repairs must be arranged through our Customer Service Department (we are unable to pay for returns which we have not authorised).

 

Please Note:

We use specialist furniture carriers to deliver all our furniture to ensure your order is handled appropriately. This may mean that it is not possible to request delivery at a specific time or date for your delivery. For example only being able to accept delivery on Wednesday's or before 12am may not be possible. If you have any concerns or queries about this do not hesitate to contact us on 0845 833 4677

It may also be necessary for you to accept the first delivery date offered if we are to meet any delivery deadlines.

Once a delivery date has been scheduled you must be able to take delivery on that day. If for some reason this changes and youre busy please contact us and let us know.  We require to be notified 2 days prior to delivery in order to avoid a £45 emergency call charge payable before we can re-arrange delivery.
The reason for this charge is that your order will be loaded onto the delivery vehicle the day before delivery and once loaded, orders cannot be unloaded and therefore incurs a delivery cost.

Mattresses and pillows are sent separately using a next day premium delivery service for the Standard Delivery Charge.  If you require specific AM/PM delivery times please contact us.

The availability of each product is stated on its information page. If an item is expected to take longer than advertised we will contact you.

How do I contact Designer Sofas 4u?

Designer Sofas4u can be contacted by email or telephone on 0845 833 4677. Telephone calls are charged at local rates. Our customer service centre operates between 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday. Emails received during these hours will usually be answered within two working days.

 

What if I have a complaint?

We are determined to provide the easiest and best way to buy furniture online, and we are not satisfied unless all our customers are delighted with their purchase and their experience of shopping at Designer Sofas4u. In the unlikely event that you do not enjoy your experience of shopping with us, please tell us by email or telephone us on 0845 833 4677. Telephone calls are charged at local rates. We will acknowledge your complaint within one working day and will do our very best to resolve it speedily as possible. Where a complaint has not been resolved within one week, you will receive weekly updates on its progress.

Do you have brochures?

We aim to keep our costs as low as possible, therefore we don't print paper catalogues/brochures - this in turn allows us to keep our prices low. Instead, we have an extensive selection of furniture on display on our website.
