Clearance Sale – A Golden Opportunity

There are so many strategies that Merchants and Retail Stores employ to sell out the stock of a particular thing at the asking price or at highest possible price they can get and as quickly as possible and Clearance Sale is one of them. The offers like a discount up to a certain percentage, buy one get one and other offers like that are part of the strategies of the tricks of trade that the retail stores and merchants employ. Clearance Sale as the name suggests refers to a special occasion or event when retail stores offer the excess stock of a particular product at a highly discounted price, with a view to clear the excess stock, for which customers are not ready to pay the asking price.

This happens when a particular product becomes all the rage and considering the demand of that product retail stores place a huge order, but when after some time when the initial excitement wears off, the demand of that product starts to diminish by the day and retail stores are left with too much, which they have to clear by getting a price at least equal to the per unit cost of the product. Another reason for retail stores to offer clearance sale offer, which is used as a last resort to generate whatever income by liquidating the inventory. Liquidation in lay men’s terms means that a business entity is going out of business and wants to sell the stock inventory, however this strategy is often deliberately employed to sell out the inventory as quickly as possible.

Clearance Sale can be a golden opportunity for those who couldn’t purchase the product when it was offered first up at the regular price; they can stock up that product by purchasing it at a discounted price.
