Goatskin Rugs are Back into Fashion

A few years ago goatskin rugs were highly used and every household used to have goatskin rugs, which became sort of a symbol of elegance but then all of a sudden they went out of fashion and people across the world stopped using them. As the trend of wooden floors is catching on, goatskin rugs are back into the fashion and are being demanded all over the world. If you observe, majority of the people, who are in the process of building their new houses, are giving more preference to wooden floors and as a result the demand for goatskin rugs as well as other rugs like cow hide rugs and sheep skin rugs is increasing by the day.

Goatskin rugs can be used as decorative covering of beds, sofas as well as to cover your floor. Normally goat skin rugs are used at the inside the door, near to the door step as well as in the center of a living room. Hardwood floors although look beautiful but have a disadvantage to it, its temperature varies with the season. In summer hardwood warms up where it is in direct contact with the Sun light and in winter it gets a bit cold and this is where goatskin rugs and other rugs come into play, Goatskin rugs allow you to have some warm spots on your wooden floor as well as it adds to the beauty of hardwood floors. Goatskin rugs are available in many colors like black, brown, white, cream color, grey as well as in a combination of two colors and each and every color goes perfectly well with the color of wooden floors and makes and excellent combination that is not only pleasing to eyes but also provides some warmth in winter.

Goatskin Rugs are extremely easy to clean and maintain, you can use a vacuum cleaner to clean the dust off your goatskin rug or use carpet shampoo or spray. In addition to these methods you can also use mild soap or wet sponge to clean the rugs of stains and dust. You can also use vinegar to neutralize the smell of pet animals, if you have a pet in your house, so you can easily take care of goatskin rugs, without much of an effort. Goatskin rugs are better than sheepskin rugs as well as cowhide rugs in some respects like goatskin rugs are more soft and furry as well as they have a better texture than sheepskin rugs. In addition to that goatskin rugs are available in more colors than sheepskin rugs and are fluffier.  So owing to these qualities goatskin rugs are better not only than sheepskin and cowhide rugs but other variants of animal skin rugs like reindeer skin rugs, shaggy rugs as well as contemporary rugs in some respects.

There are many countries, which are known for producing the finest quality of animal skin rugs. China, Pakistan, India and other South Asian countries are known for short as well as long hair goat skins, whereas South American Regions as well as Peru and Brazil are known for excellent cowhide rugs. As far as the size of goatskin rugs and cowhide rugs is concerned, goatskin rugs can be 2-4 feet in length, whereas cowhide rugs can extend up to 7 feet. Goatskin rugs in spite of being thin as compared to cowhide and sheep skin rugs, are durable to last over a period of time if maintained carefully and regularly. Given that these rugs are made of natural animal skins, you may find goatskin rugs as well as other animal skin rugs to be expensive.
