Its history dates back to the eighteenth century when the Earl of Chesterfield commissioned its development to a famous English cabinetmaker with the intention of devising a seat in which the elegant gentlemen of the time and also the servants could sit without crushing the clothes. From its birth, the Chesterfield sofa caused admiration in the high society and soon it became the indispensable piece in the exclusive English clubs and the halls of each house of wealthy family. From there, it spread to North American land and since then it has been a sofa that knows no borders. Its worldwide popularity is today indisputable and remains the favorite of those who have a classic taste but also like the most modern.
A Chesterfield sofa is made with a robust and large frame, with short wooden legs and a backrest and armrests at the same level. His personal stamp is his capitoné upholstery that covers the entire length of the chair. Traditionally they were made of leather and currently is still the material chosen by those who want to enjoy the true essence of a Chesterfield. This sofa is considered so special that it is highly coveted by collectors.
